This show consists of two parts:

1. Midwest Regional Western Dressage Championships

2. Sorensen Park Championship

 

 

Midwest Regional Western Dressage Championships portion of show -- 

No qualification required to participate in the Midwestern Dressage Championship portion of the show. To enter the Midwest Regional Western Dressage Championship portion of the show:

All competitors, including competitors who have competed in the virtual dressage shows as well as riders with gaited horse are welcome and encouraged to participate in this head to head Midwest Regional Championship.

Sorensen Park Championship portion of the show --

ONE QUALIFYING SCORE OF 60% or higher from a SORENSEN PARK SCHOOLING SHOW is REQUIRED to participate in the SORENSEN PARK SCHOOL SHOW SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP portion of the show.
To enter the SORENSEN PARK SCHOOL SHOW SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP portion of the show:

Division championships will be awarded to the highest average of Day One test and Day Two test. Day One = Test 1 and Day Two = Test 2. Riders must ride both Day One = Test 1 and Day Two = Test 2 for each championship level entered. Day One = Test 1 will be held on Friday. Day Two = Test 2 will be held on Saturday.


For those who are unable to the show on Friday, there may be a few openings in a Test of Choice early Saturday morning to enable you to make up the Day One Test that is a required part of each championship. Ice Cream Social, Games, Friends, & Fun 1 hour after the last class

AND

  • Regular Schooling show classes with Dressage and Western Dressage classes
  • Dressage Seat Equitation and Western Dressage Equitation on the Rail class
  • Musical Freestyle for both Traditional and Western Dressage
  • Championship Classes Day One Test 1

 

Saturday, August 16th, 2025

 

This day of competition consists of Test 2 which is the final portion of each Championship class and award ceremonies.

Regular Schooling show classes with Dressage and Western Dressage classes

 

Versatility Championship:

Classes ridden for the Versatility Championship DO NOT COUNT FOR ANY OTHER CHAMPIONSHIP CLASS. If you wish to be in other Championship classes, you need to enter those divisions in addition to the Versatility Championship.


Competitors who sign up for the Versatility Championship will compete in the following 3 types of classes:

  1. Versatility Equitation class. All riders who sign up for the Versatility Championship need to enter Class #8 VERSATILITY EQUITATION. It will be ridden on Friday.   
     
  2. One Traditional Dressage class. The Traditional Dressage test will be Test 1 of the level you choose.  The Traditional Dressage test will be held on Friday.
     
  3. One Western Dressage class.  The Western Dressage test will be Test 2 of the level you choose. The Western Dressage test will be held on Saturday.
     
  • You do need to state which LEVEL you want to ride and write it on the "stabling screen" of HorseShowOffice.com under additional requests, comments, & instructions.   
     
  • Traditional and Western Dressage levels chosen to ride must be similar.  For example: 
    • Traditional Introductory and Western Introductory, Traditional Training Level and Western Basic Level, Traditional First Level and Western Level One, etc.
       

The Versatility Equitation class will be equal to a Dressage Equitation/Western Dressage Equitation on the Rail class. Horses may be asked to perform a medium walk, working trot or jog, working lope or canter both directions of the ring. They may be asked to back 4 steps and stand quietly in a line. They may be asked to do a free walk, change directions across the diagonal, and/or perform a 3- loop serpentine at the trot or jog at the discretion of the judge.

NOTE: Competitors are responsible for stripping and sweeping their stalls. If stalls are not stripped, the deposit fee will be forfeited! 

 

Incomplete Entries: All entries must include a $20 refundable Incomplete Entry Fee.  Fee will be refunded for all entries completed by the date/time listed below.  Entries completed later may qualify for a partial refund of $10. Complete entries include all required Signatures, Coggins, Vaccinations, Membership Requirements and Payment.  Entries with any open issues listed in pre-show notifications are incomplete; only entries that clear all unresolved issues by Monday before the show qualify for the refund of the incomplete entry fee.

*Full $20 refund if completed by Friday August 8 at 9:00am.  Partial refund of $10 if completed by Monday August 11 at 9:00am.

INTRODUCTORY & OPPORTUNITY Classes require NO USEF/USDF numbers for Horse, Rider, Owner, Trainer.

OPPORTUNITY Classes - Do NOT pay USEF drug & medication fee.  INTRODUCTORY Classes DO PAY a drug fee. 

Must comply with all Drug & Medication rules and are subject to testing.

Class Definitions

Class Numbering
Class numbers begin with 100, 200, 300 to designate the day they are held. The following key is provided:

100 = Thur Classes.
200 = Fri. Classes
300 = Sat. Classes
 

Divisions
O = Open
A = Adult Amateur
J = JR/YR

 

OPEN - Open to all horses and riders.

 

AA - Open to Adult Amateurs only. Competitors shall compete as Adults from the beginning of the calendar year in which they reach the age of 22. Must hold current USEF Amateur card.

 

JR/YR - Open to Junior & Young Riders only. Individuals are eligible as JRs until the end of the calendar year in which they reach the age of 18. Individuals are eligible as YRs from the beginning of the calendar year in which they reach age of 16 until the end of the calendar year in which they reach the age of 21.

 

DRESSAGE EQ - Open to riders who have never competed above 2nd Level in a recognized competition

 

NOTE! Classes listed are NOT necessarily in the order of go.

 

Non-Compete Fee - There will be a $75 fee (per day) for horses not entered in any classes.

TOC - Test of Choice - You choose which test you would like to ride and indicate it on the entry form
